Peasants have to lug their gold from the mine to the Hall before you can use it, so any transit time is simply a waste. When you build your Town Hall, make sure it is as close to a gold mine as you can get it. Resource Gathering - You might think there's no strategy at all to handling your peasants, but actually that's not true. Using the keyboard, this can be done many seconds quicker than by using the mouse, and in a multiplayer game, every second counts in the beginning of the game. So for example to get Peasants to build a Barracks rapidly, you would hit F8 to find an idle peasant, then hit B to pull up his Build menu, then hit B again to make him build a Barracks. You'll also want to learn the keyboard shortcuts for some of the most commonly performed actions for your favorite units. So for example, if you had five riflemen and three knights with your hero in Group 1, and you wanted to select just the riflemen to target an enemy air unit, you would hit "1" first to select that group, then hit TAB to switch the emphasis from the Hero to the Riflemen.īackspace: Cycles through Town Halls this is handy if you have many gold mine expansions. TAB: This switches between subgroups within a Group. Note that you can have multiple groups - choose different guys and hit CTRL+2, CTRL+3, etc. Then, whenever you want to get back to this group, you only have to hit the "1" key again. Then set them as a Group by pressing the one key while holding down the control key. Use the mouse to lasso them so they're all highlighted. You will never have more than three Heroes in a typical multiplayer game, however.ĬTRL+1: This creates a "Group." First, gather everyone you want in a particular group together. Note that if you have more than one Hero, additional heroes are accessed using F2, F3, and so on, up through F7. Double-tap F1 quickly to center the view on him as well.
